FAQS

Mounjaro, also known as tirzepatide, is a prescription medication used to treat adults with type 2 diabetes. It is a dual agonist, meaning it targets two different receptors in the body: the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor and the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor. These receptors play a role in regulating appetite, blood sugar levels, and metabolism.

Mounjaro works by stimulating the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, which leads to a number of effects, including:

  • Suppressed appetite
  • Increased satiety
  • Improved insulin sensitivity
  • Increased glucose uptake by the liver and muscles
  • Increased GLP-1 and GIP secretion

These effects can lead to significant weight loss, improved blood sugar control, and a reduced risk of cardiovascular events.

Mounjaro has been shown to be effective in achieving and maintaining weight loss. In clinical trials, people taking Mounjaro lost an average of 20% of their body weight. Mounjaro has also been shown to improve blood sugar control in people with type 2 diabetes. It is also well-tolerated, with minimal side effects.

What are the side effects of Mounjaro?

The most common side effects of Mounjaro are:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Fatigue
  • Upper abdominal pain
  • Headache

These side effects are usually mild to moderate and go away on their own. In rare cases, Mounjaro can cause more serious side effects, such as pancreatitis and gallbladder problems.

Mounjaro should not be taken by people who are allergic to any of its ingredients. It should also not be taken by people with a history of pancreatitis or gallbladder problems. Mounjaro is not currently approved for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Mounjaro is injected under the skin once a week. It is typically taken on the same day each week.

It may take a few weeks to see the full effects of Mounjaro. Some people may start to lose weight as early as one week after starting treatment.

Mounjaro has been shown to be safe and effective in clinical trials. It is well-tolerated, with minimal side effects. However, it is important to talk to your doctor about any risks or side effects before starting treatment.

Mounjaro is currently not covered by most insurance plans. However, some insurance companies may cover it on a case-by-case basis.

What our Customers Are Saying

2.5mg/wk for 8 months, went from 234lb to 170. Had stomach cramps at first that worsened with higher dose. The lower dose worked well enough. Have been off of it for 2 months with little change to established weight and eating habits so far no weight gain.

Alison Ciust

Just started on the 5th dose, and I have lost 8 lbs. I have been walking 2 miles, 3 days a week, and stopped eating carbs. I am 60 years old, 5'7 started at 223 lbs now 215 lbs. I am not sure if it is my determined mindset and discipline but for once I am not obsessed with food or craving sweets. I do notice I get full quickly. Weight is not falling off without effort! I have had no side effects at all. Very happy with this drug and hope to see more results as I increase my dosage.

Allan Jackson

Mounjaro eliminated my appetite. Foods I previously craved and binged on were no longer of interest. I felt full after a few bites. However, when my doctor increased the dose from 2.5 mg to 5 mg I began having side effects and ended up in the ER with severe diarrhea that was causing dehydration. I stopped taking Mounjaro after 6 weeks, but I did lose about 15 lbs during that 6 weeks.Ā

Anthony Denison

Lost 37 lbs in 33 days (4 shots of 2.5 mg and one 5mg). Now only lost 2 lbs over the last two weeks at 5mg. I have a lot to lose and guess my body just needed a break. The weight was melting off like butter. No real side effects to speak of except first-week constipation and feeling a little sick if I eat something a bit fatty or greasy. So, I just cut that stuff out.Ā
